The Greater Together Challenge is an open contest of ideas. Moonlit Yoga - a curated collection of Yoga tools for a good night's sleep

When it's the moon's time to shine, it is a serene and nourishing time for gentle yoga techniques. These are tools that calm the nervous system, prepare for sleep, and help let go of the day. I take my time with these and choose which I visit and for how long intuitively depending on where my body-mind goes, with very little thought if any. Just moving into 1, 2 or several of these is perfect. Comfortable to do in pj's, these are delicious for just before curling up with a book in bed or simply…See More

Thai What?

Thai Yoga Therapy.

Thai Bodywork.

Thai Massage.

Passive Yoga.

Lazy Man's Yoga...

Different names for an ancient therapeutic system that's been used to maintain and bring health into balance for centuries across cultures. It's not quite yoga and it's not quite massage, it's really a bit of both and then some. It's a bodywork methodology that has astounding healing and rejuvenating benefits.…

Post-natal Comeback: Body & Creativity

Posted on April 26, 2012 at 5:30am 0 Comments

I'm not sure if I still qualify to be called "post-natal" as it's been a year now since birthing my latest baby, but i'm surely not the same body, mind and spirit as before the pregnancy. I quit my career after having this last baby, my Mirabelle, and with that came some big powerful changes. Not just the major ones that come with a total lifestyle change, but minor ones that have very large impact: the loss of commuting time and lunch hours. Turns out the loss of these is a HUGE deal for… Continue

The evolution of yoga, both past and present, are so fascinating to me. Knowing bits of the history of it lends even more richness to my practice. Like how Sun Salutations, Surya Namaskar, were a relatively modern invention brought about by the convergence of the Brits in India in the 1800's -- yogis' influence on the imperialists' military calesthenics. Like how the "wild thing" or "rock star" posture is a bold example of yoga's ongoing evolution -- I love it, it feels great -- and i'm no…
