Most of us experience shoulder and neck pain at some point in our lives. The shoulder joint is very flexible and one of the most easily injured joints. Shoulder and neck misalignments can manifest themselves in collapsed shoulders, jaw clenching, headaches, tingling in the fingers, and shallow breathing.
We will deconstruct common poses - and learn some new ones! - focusing on alignment tips and tricks that you can bring into your regular practice. We will release tension, open the collar bones, and lengthen the neck. We will also explore pranayama techniques with movement to open the lungs for deep spacious breathing.
As a Certified Yoga Instructor and Shoulder-Injury Survivor, I will guide you through a hatha practice that will be both challenging and therapeutic and sure to deepen your expression of heart openers and your increase your enjoyment of shoulder stand.
Blankets and blocks will be provided (for a few delicious supported postures) but please bring your own if you have them.
** An injury is not a prerequisite for this class, you can still find neck and shoulder euphoria with healthy joints!
